Fallon Minneapolis won a Gold Statue at the 2008 London International Awards for its entry “Tin Man ” for NBC Universal’s SCI FI channel, in the Entertainment, Digital Media category. The London International Awards was held on Monday at the Hippodrome in London, England. Now in its 23rd year, the London International Awards continues to honor excellence in advertising, design, and digital media.
“Winning a Gold in Digital Media is highly commendable, especially when you consider how far this media has advanced creatively and technologically,” said Barbara Levy, president of London International Awards. “We are very pleased to be able to showcase this piece of work in our Show.”
The promotional campaign was created for the Tin Man miniseries, a re-imagination of the literary classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in a more outrageous, darkly twisted, and psychedelic fashion. Fallon’s media department produced the multi-platform media campaign on the premise that every interaction should be an experience.
Fallon’s other global offices also received honors. Fallon Tokyo was recognized as a Finalist in one category, and Fallon London was named a Finalist three times, also winning two Golds and one Silver.
Of the 17,969 total submissions from 81 countries, only 5% reached Finalist status. From that elite group, 1.4% attained Silver status and only 0.7% were awarded Gold Statues. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986, when 2,600 submissions were considered.
