skimmer app takes the Gold Design Lion Award at The Cannes International Advertising Festival

Minneapolis (June 25, 2009)

Adding to the company’s history of award-winning work, Fallon Minneapolis today won the Gold Lion for Digital Design with its elegantly designed lifestreaming software, Skimmer. The Gold Lion is a prestigious award at the annual International Advertising Festival at Cannes. Skimmer streamlines and dramatically enhances the experience of participating in frequently used social networking activities.

Remarked Rob Buchner, Fallon’s Chief Marketing Officer: “We embarked on this so Fallon would have a stake in the world of social media. It was really another social experiment of ours. At its root, Skimmer improved the lifestreaming experience by aggregating one’s social media services. We’ve always viewed Skimmer as Fallon’s gift to active lifestreamers,” Buchner continued, “It’s gratifying that our first endeavor into software development was recognized not only for its innovation but also for its design aesthetic.”

Skimmer is an Adobe AIR-based desktop application that serves as a dashboard for a person’s social networks, saving people the time and hassle of manually checking Facebook®, Twitter®, Flickr®, Blogger® and YouTube® by consolidating their feeds into a single stream of real-time, relevant content on the desktop. Skimmer provides a powerful time-saving utility distinguished from other lifestreaming applications by its modern, elegant aesthetic and the fact that it’s presented without the distraction of ads.

Fallon believes the future belongs to generous brands. This stands true not only for Fallon clients but also for the agency itself. In the spirit of generosity, Fallon offers Skimmer as a free application for download: www.fallon.com/skimmer
